Deception Point by Dan Brown

4.0

I liked it a lot, and it's really intriguing to think about a) how our existence as humans would be altered if we discovered alien life, and b) how underhanded the political system truly is. Dan Brown has a lot of haters, but ultimately I like his books because they're an easy read that also makes me think - not the easiest thing to achieve.

I read this book years ago, and it piqued my interest in a lot of subjects. Even today I constantly wonder about the Mariana Trench and the possibilities that it holds, if only we could get down there. And I never stop wondering what our reactions would be like if some extra-terrestrial organism were actually discovered (lets hope it doesnt happen [b:The Andromeda Strain|7670|The Andromeda Strain|Michael Crichton|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1165637950s/7670.jpg|997271]-style).
