The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

5.0

Hazel has cancer, and meets a man named Gus at a talk group. They end up bonding and falling love. Later Gus uses his wish to take Hazel to Amsterdam to meet her favourite author. When they were there they become intimate for the first time, but also Hazel finds out that Gus' cancer has come back. They fall more and more in love as the book continues, and Gus unfortunately passes away. She goes to his funeral and Gus' best friend mentions about a letter that her favourite author wrote but that Gus helped him write it. She finds the letter and cherishes it as a forever moment with Gus. Although the book is about people with cancer, it's not a cancer book.

There are very few books that I read before the movie comes out but this was one of them. I read this in a matter of days and was obsessed with it. I even bought a second copy of the book in which I read whilst I listened to the audio book and highlighted my favourite quotes and different segments of the book, because of how much I loved it.
