Dust & Time by Mitch Sebourn

5.0

This was my first Sebourn novel and also the first novel I’ve read that took advantage of using the current situation with a global pandemic as writing inspiration. Although it was COVID-19, it gave the story an interesting edge and unique element which added to the story.

The story was part horror, part thriller and part murder mystery that all took place during a pandemic. I like the way Sebourn took the King approach and used a character from another one of his stories as his main protagonist. Riley was fun to follow and one hell of a constable.

Without going too far into spoilers, the antagonist was as despicable as they come.

The story was written in a way that pushes the reader on with a sense of urgency and I enjoyed it. I’ll be checking out Sebourn’s other works including Flying Saucer which I currently have waiting patiently on my shelf. I highly recommend Dust & Time as an excellent pandemic or post-pandemic read!
