Really good book, as was the first one. The plot in this book was especially well devised, and the creativity and connectedness of the story definitely surpasses the first novel. This book was a fun read (if incredibly emotional and traumatic) and met my expectations! However, the writing style is a bit ”young”, which can make it a bit boring/unenjoyable at times (not significantly).
Graphic: Body horror, Confinement, Death, Genocide, Gore, Torture, Violence, Blood, Police brutality, Murder, Gaslighting, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Addiction, Alcoholism, Child death, Drug use, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Suicidal thoughts, Death of parent, Alcohol, War, and Deportation
Overall very gory and deals with death on basically every other page.
