Seven Minutes in Heaven by Eloisa James

2.0

I love this author and I am sorry to say I did not love this book. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I was reading a library copy that had water damage along the bottom of the pages and that was kind of distracting. I discarded the book when I got back to work because it was so annoying (but we have another copy). Anyway, I didn't like the hero because I thought he was really self-serving and I didn't like the heroine because she was so dumb about it and I also think this was a little more lusty than I really like. Eugenia runs an agency for training and placing governesses, and I'm sorry, but I think it's a little unrealistic to build up THE premier governess agency in England in only seven years. And of course Ward has become the guardian of two much younger half-siblings who need a governess and they run off not one, but two of Eugenia's top governesses because they are so awful (spoiler: these kids could be SO MUCH WORSE. Seriously. SO MUCH worse.) so guess who has to step in to help in a crisis? And sneak around having mind-blowing sex every night with the children's guardian? There was a lot I didn't like about this book. Maybe I need to switch over to more mysteries for a while.
