This book got sadder and sadder as it progressed. My emotions were a rollecoaster switching from anger, relief, sadness and hope.

I really liked the book, how it touched important topics swiftly even if some were not directly mentioned. I saw some reviews not liking that, but I think life is made of those kind of moments, when you get to know someone and you connect emotionally with them, even if they don't tell you exactly what is happening to them or what is wrong in their lives. Now, I'm not saying is good to keep quiet about these things, just that sometimes the topics are right in front of our faces and we have to choose if we ignore them or if we face them.

About the main characters, I connected with them deeply even if I had never been under the same circumstances they are living durin the book. They felt very real in both their good and bad actions.

Switching topics, I have no idea how legal courts work, specially not in the US, but it felt almost too easy how Noor was free from charges and Sal got his sentence reduced considerably.
