The Ones That Got Away by Stephen Graham Jones

3.0

Some of these stories were just a kick in this face. This was overall a pretty good book. I'm not a big reader of horror, so this could be tropey as all hell. There's a definite "here's the twist" moment for most of these stories, but I wasn't really aware of the formula, so it didn't affect my reading. The writing was crisp throughout. The best stories (raphael, so perfect, father son) were some of the best stories I've ever read. The worst ones (teeth, billy clay) were more a disappointment than a chore to read. I would definitely recommend flipping through this book if you see it and deciding for yourself.
