This short story manages to pack in a rich fantasy world with magic, a mysterious foretelling, a strange magical woman who leaves no trace and devastating betrayal as well as a bit of romance. Intrigue on the family level as well as the kingdom, both with potentially life-altering ramifications. This is just the beginning of the nightmare.
