Wow. I was not expecting this book to grab me because the first half was slow, but I felt BREATHLESS after the big reveal and ending! 🥵
Screaming, crying, throwing up. The feminine rage and political intrigue has me in a chokehold. Poppy and Hawke have incredible chemistry and, at so many points, I really thought I knew what was going to happen and then got totally ripped in the other direction. I appreciated all the very subtle foreshadowing and the atmosphere of the book, Poppy’s empowerment.
One scene in particular was giving Twilight/Eclipse vibes (Iykyk) and I feel like I could see some of the inspo throughout the book as well. I appreciated it and it brought more of the book to life.
