Mastiff by Tamora Pierce

5.0

Pros:

I am so glad that the author cleaned up one of the problems I had with George not remembering a purple eyed cat in the final chapters of the book. It made perfect sense and suited Pounce’s personality and skills.

This book is one I wish they would have children read as part of their schooling. Watching what it takes for a country to end slavery and how long they believe it will be before it is just a memory is so important. Moreover, seeing both sides with the trouble it is for the e slaves and the trouble it is for those who depend upon it adds so much depth.

Cons:

The twists that Pierce adds to her books are always so devastating and beautiful. This was no different and will hurt for a long time.
