Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots by Deborah Feldman

3.0

Extremely interesting first book for the author, but full of angst that made me feel unsettled (for good reason) so it wasn't the"ooh, I can't wait to read more" kind of listen (I had the audiobook), but more of the "I have to find out how she escapes and get this over with" kind of book. It made me feel so helpless for women in her situation.

If I read it again it would be the book as the narrator on audio wasn't my favorite--very child-like voice that suited her story in the beginning, but not the end at all.
