The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington

4.0

4.14!

This was a debut novel and it amazed me to see an author's first work so refined and well thought of I mean just look at the plot!

This one was very slow, it took me a month to get through it but it was kind of worth it tho I like fast paced action packed novels this had very minimal of that it was more of a journey of characters with plots twists and secrets unraveling, it focused more on the world building and the magic system but it wasn't overdone like Robert Jordan did there was this essence of Roberts writing style and a tinge of Sanderson which I enjoyed quite much and this overall was a character driven book but what shocks me is that I had not been rooting for any of the characters throughout the book.

But this was enjoyable!

I would not recommend it to everyone jus to the section who read Sanderson rothfuss or Jordans or gwynns books
