The Failing Hours by Sara Ney

4.0

I wasn't too impressed with the first book in the How to Date a Douchebag series, The Studying Hours. So, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed The Failing Hours. The writing is so much better and the chapter transitions so much more smoother. The plot also flowed for a coherent story and not chunky and episodic like in The Studying Hours.

I also like the characters in The Failing Hours more. Violet is the sweetest. At first glance she's seems like a spineless bleeding heart but she does have some fire in her and doesn't let Zeke walk all over her. As for Zeke, he was an asshole character that we met in The Studying Hours and I knew there was a reason why he was so angry all the time. We learn pretty quickly that his bark is worse than his bite. I liked Zeke a lot more than I did Oz because his character was more solid and I really liked his overall character arc in the book.

I've been told multiple times that this series does get better and better with each book. I can't wait to read the next one.
