★★★½.
There was something a little underdeveloped and really rushed about this story. Caleb Donovan and Lily Sotheby have been dancing around each other for a couple of books now, but I didn't feel like they were truly served in this book.

Caleb and Lily were in love decades ago, when Lily chose duty over love and married another. Now that her husband Sotheby is dead, fate has put Caleb and Lily on a collision course again. Both Caleb and Lily are marked as prophets, and they are assisting King Dage with peace talks between the Realm and Kurjans. While trying to broker a peace, old flames are reignited between Caleb and Lily, and she must make the same decision again, Love or Duty. Will her answer still be the same?

Question containing spoilers:
Spoiler
1) How was Guilles tapping into Lily's memory and how can he manipulate what she sees?
2) Can Lily, Caleb or any other prophet do the same?
3) Guilles mentioned looking into her future and seeing the babe, can other prophets look into others futures?
Why wasn't guilles able to see that he would be double crossed by Franco
4) Did other prophets have the ability to manipulate people's vision? How can we trust anyone except Janie's visions? Can her visions be manipulated too?

I think Caleb and Lily could have brought more heat. There was no real advancement on anything here except that now we can see that betrayers are everywhere. I was disappointed with this one.
