Storm and Silence by Robert Thier

No other book beats this whole historical series.

I love Lily so much I might just burst into love hearts. Lily is determined to work so hard for herself in an era when women are expected to just nature kids and sit down and play house. I love how the author introduces her with a bang and the book just keeps getting better from there. She is so strong and embraces her femininity when the time calls for it and defends her beliefs when her boss/ love interest tries to put her down for it. With great relief, i state that Rikkard is not as heartless as I thought, which is a good thing because he really can give someone a hard time (and look). I love how serious he is (and what a spendthrift he can be ;) ). His adventures with Lily are so enjoyable and I love how he can never say "good" which irritates Lily but we all know how she really feels about it deep down.

Add a bodyguard who is as large as life, an aunt who can never stop planning the next marriage, a quiet sister with a secret love interest, other sisters who remind me a lot of Cinderella's step sisters and a business rival who seems to be not what he says he is and you have yourself a novel worth your time.
