Another nice read in the Empire of Shattered Crowns book!
Another GORGEOUS cover!!!
We immediately jump back in with Emilia, Thessian, and all the others. While this book covers both working out more of the established plot lines, there is also new story to cover, more characters to get to know, and more magical people and creatures coming into frame.
A bit much if I am very honest but I was still engaged and entertained.
The back story of Emilia was very interesting. I am also curious to where book 4 picks up.
I flew to through this book and it was an enjoyable read for me.
I was somewhat surprised that the old king had only been dead for two weeks. So, between the start of book 1 and the end of book 3, roughly only a month had passed! That surprised me, with everything going on.
3.5 stars rounded up.
