This is my first book from Kristin Harmel and I quite enjoyed it.
This historical fiction novel follows a Winery in rural France during WWII.
The story is written in multiple POVs and dual timeline and I struggled with this aspect. I didn’t feel like I truly got to connect with any of the characters. I didn’t feel the emotions of the character. While the story is incredibly devastating, I wanted a little bit more of each character.
Another aspect I did not enjoy, was a major plot point, but I don’t enjoy it any book — regardless of genre. (I won’t be sharing as I feel like it is a spoiler)
Overall I enjoyed this historical fiction novel. I cannot wait to pick up more books from this author.
