Spell Ya Later by Zoe Shae
2.0
This book was really not for me. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and the writing style. We went back and forth from a light hearted cozy writing style to a pretty intense action writing style. The two didn’t combine seamlessly for me.
The characters and their inability to have a full conversation drove me crazy as well. The two girls and their mom obviously loved each other, but they never acted like it. I think that was part of the point, but there were some moments where they could have seriously come together and instead they bickered like children.
Lastly, the epilogue felt like it didn’t really fit with the story. We ended on this super sweet HEA and then the epilogue took a semi-ominous turn. Threw me for a loop.
