The Hand of Fatima by Ildefonso Falcones

3.0

This book really explains the uprising, and the consequences of it, really well. You understand the main characters motivations and reasoning as to why he does what he does. I did however felt the book was to long for the pay-off that it had. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning and ending, but the middle part was sometimes unnecessarily long. It was like an essay you write where you know the subject (beginning) and the point you want to make (ending), but get almost overly excited about all the possible information at your disposal that you want to include. If you're interested in historical romance or want to learn more about Spains history then it's definitely a good read. You surely get a well thought out and researched story.
