3.5

Much like the first book, I found this book fine. A little more engaging than the first, hence the higher rating. (Edit; actually I bumped this to a 3.5 and bumped the first to 3.25) However, the love triangle is really the most unnecessary addition to this series. It’s unconvincing and annoying. Even the romance storylines don’t convince me. I know love triangles were the thing in like the early 2010s but it’s so frustrating to read about lol. Especially at the end with Michael, was his first time seeing Cassie after that really necessary? Was it necessary to make him upset? I feel like based off of his character in the rest of the book he’d be more relieved to see her first, the stuff with the love triangle second. That just annoyed me a lot.

I may continue with this series, not sure yet. I’m just not immediately rushing to pick up the next book.
