This book, I was not prepared emotionally for this one but I loved it. This story follows the life of 4 sisters and tells a story of family trauma, sisterly bonding and grief. Three sisters alive and struggling to come to terms with their sister’s death. Where death and grief bring some together, it seems to have created an international sized rift for the remaining Blue sisters. Three POVs and three stories of grief and introspection beautifully captured and balanced. Through these three sisters we learn more about the life, and death, of their sister Nicky. When the remaining Blue sisters return to their home to prevent it from being sold they are able to process the grief of loss and begin to be honest to each other and more importantly, to themselves.

Check trigger warnings on this one, heavy substance abuse/addiction topics throughout. As someone who has seen how substance abuse and addiction can wreak havoc on a family system this book resonated with me profoundly.

Thank you to Ballantine Books and Netgalley for gifting me a copy (out now!), all opinions are my own.
