Wellll, for me, the first 2 books were kind of bad. Like the idea was there but it just lacked something. And then the author involved Norse mythology to explain some stuff but... I think she should have chosen another folklore background. Because it didn't make sense. In my head at least. And I had the feeling that the story sidetracked in the second book. For the third and fourth books, the story was just nice. I wasn't even emotionally attached, so I actually didn't care. (UNLESS SOMETHING HAPPENED TO ASTLEY)
I think the idea of pixies should have been explored differently. They seemed an interesting Fae creature.
About the characters, my all time favourite was Astley; and Cassidy comes next. Zara annoyed me sometimes and I couldn't give a shit about Nick. (In so many parts, I was like, 'what were you expecting Zara? Are you stupid?')
And there was a love triangle but at least it was well executed; we could see that one of the relationships wasn't meant to be.
