What a stunning conclusion to the story that began in What the River Knows! Where the Library Hides was everything I hoped for and more. Returning to Egypt for this final chapter was an absolute treat, and I’m so glad Inez and Whit's journey didn’t disappoint.
Whitford Hayes continues to be the dashing, mysterious character we know and love, while Inez’s strength and kindness shine through even in the face of heartbreaking challenges. I loved seeing how she handled the loss of her cousin, the betrayal of her mother, and the complicated fate tied to her marriage to Whit. The rivals-to-lovers romance was executed perfectly, and their chemistry was undeniable.
The twists and surprises in this book kept me on the edge of my seat! Every page had me hooked, and it was impossible to put down. The lush setting of 1885 Egypt, the rich historical context, and the romance combined into an unforgettable read.
While I’m sad to see Inez and Whit’s story come to an end, the teaser at the end has me hopeful for more from this world and these characters. Please tell me there’s more to come!
