I’m honestly not set on the rating of this book yet. The beginning was meeting the main girls and the friendship between them, which was nice. You also got introduced do the ‘Tox’, which is the plot of the book basically.

For a while, nothing really happened. Then something happened, which took longer than expected, and suddenly two of the main girls are love interests. This kinda, in my opinion, came out of nowhere. Throughout the beginning you didn’t really get any hint that they were interested in each other, so this kind threw me off.

Most of the time the plot is strong and really has potential. I enjoyed that and once things started happening, it got more interesting. Some things were still confusing to me, since I got really vague explanations and I wanted to know more.

The ending I really liked, so I went to search for a sequel and turns out that it’s a standalone. This kinda surprised me since the ending kinda leads on to “there’s more to come” when in reality there isn’t. I very curious to know where they end up next and what they are going to do. But… we might never know.

2.75 stars for me. It’s wasn’t bad, but I just missed a lot of information that could’ve made this story much stronger than it was. And yes, it’s young adult and maybe I’m a little too old in a way that I crave more than just.
