* This is my opinion; I encourage readers to read anything they want. *

Initial reaction: My heart is warm, and I could use a tasty, hot beverage after reading this.

Premise: Viv has completed many bounties and fought many battles, but she’s ready to live a new life. It was time to build the first-ever coffee shop in Thune.

I loved reading this book and was thoroughly entertained reading “Legends and Lattes.” This felt like a different take on your typical fantasy novel. I loved that although the conflict was on the lower end, Baldree provided us with a heartfelt and unique tale.

The characters were the strongest aspect of this book. All of them were developed well to the point that you were never confused about who was who between the colorful cast. I enjoyed how characters were introduced into the story and showcased their true value to the story.

The main message in Legends & Lattes is important for readers to always remember. The plot baked into a tasty cinnamon roll (maybe not as good as Thimble’s) because of how the characters contributed to it. For most of the story, it was a feel-good escape from everyday life.

Fantasy novels can sometimes feel dense with a plethora of information about the world we step into, but this book made it feel light and fluffy with how the writing style was conducted.

For Skyrim or Animal Crossing fans, this book was like opening a coffee shop in Whiterun and meeting new, lifelong friends. If you’re not an avid fantasy reader like myself, I recommend having this book be one of your intros into the genre.
