Batman & Robin, Vol. 1: Batman Reborn by Grant Morrison

2.0

And so marks the THIRD time Dick beats the crap out of Jason Todd, then proceeds to berate him for not asking for mental health lmao

Very unfortunate beginning for a Dick!bats run imo...I liked how the volume was starting out with Pyg and all the messed up stuff he's doing. Made for some really creepy imagery. Damian's Robin is also fun with how cocky and just how much of a little asshole he is to everyone. But that's really where my enjoyment ends?

Dick Grayson is definitely a lighter Batman, and I do appreciate how he has moments where he feels like an imposter - but the focus really quickly shifts from that to "let's beat up Jason Todd again because he's ~~crazy~~" which I'm getting tired of lol. Jason once again comes on the scene to clean up Gotham the "right" way of murdering people, but this time he tries to go viral??? This is like when movies reference memes its just cringey. I don't blame the writers for letting Jason steal the show for a while but it's just not anything fresh, and it takes a lot of the focus away from Batman and Robin in BATMAN AND ROBIN.

Also just, very strange art style. There are time where Damian looks fine, and other times he looks like he's 50.
