I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver
5.0
This novel gave me the same feeling as watching the movie "Eight Grade". I felt awkward because Ben felt awkward, but that's never a bad thing. It takes extreme talent to get your readers to feel something that deeply. Stories like this need to be told, even if they're uncomfortable. ESPECIALLY if they're uncomfortable.
Every single time Ben was experiencing an anxiety trick they didn't know was anxiety, my heart just lurched! I've been there and I've done all of this - the coming out and the rejection and the fear of telling your crush in case they hate you! It's agonizing and I'm glad it was portrayed with that type of feeling behind the story.
And Nathan? If Nathan were a real life person, I would be in love. Or at the very least, I would very much want to be that boy's friend.
The whole book was spectacular. I want to erase it from my brain just to be able to enjoy it again!
