The Appeal by John Grisham

3.0

This was too long. I've given the third star purely because I was drawn in by the first 100 pages and the last 100 pages, but the middle 300 got a little boring in places and quite often was a little too political for me. I would also have liked being able to root for a character - I feel like Wes and Mary Grace were painted as the "good guys" but all I got from them was that they are super duper hard working lawyers, y'all. So a strong start and finish, but I won't be going out of my way to track down loads more legal thrillers unless they're significantly better reviewed than this one.
