Compass South: A Graphic Novel (Four Points, Book 1), by Hope Larson

5.0

Got this book for Christmas (thanks, Nick!) and I loved it. I'm sad this book didn't exist when I was a kid because it would've been so my thing. Pirates and adventure and interweaving stories. Though the book was extremely fast paced it didn't feel rushed like many graphic novels do to me.

I can't personally speak to the racial representation in this book, but nothing particularly egregious stood out to me.

I really enjoyed it, would recommend it as a middle grade pick for the voracious graphic novel reader, and can't wait to get the sequel!
