Joy Ride by Lauren Blakely

4.0

Max is one of the top – if not the actual top – of the auto restoration and customization trade in New York City. Talented – and hot - Henley was once apprenticed under him, but, after an argument that resulted from a painting mix-up, she was let go several years prior. When the two end up working together on a major project, sparks begin to fly.

Told from Max’s point of view, this is a fun read. Max and Henley have great chemistry, and the fact that Henley is a strong, independent female in a male dominated field is awesome.

While Blakely doesn’t really put this title under a series, Max has made appearances in a couple of previous novels.

I have to say: Really…they are part of a series. What makes a series? Books that have a people and places in common? (check – Max is in two other books, all set in NYC). A common theme? (check – all of this non-series are told from the male’s point-of-view). So, I’m calling this a series. And because of that, I’m kind of bummed I’ve been reading them out of order.
