Ther are few stories that I hated reading as much as I hate this particular book. It is written very well, so I could power through, but I definitely had to distance myself from the story itself. It was too much.
I never had any attraction to gore and horror, so it might be that, but I had a hard time understanding what is the reason for all the horrible and ugly things happening. It was shocking for sure, but felt as if only for the shock value.
I personally cannot relate to such weak main characters, who let others abuse and exploit them and loves them for it. It is also not that Oly is not aware, she knows and never questions it.
