Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Sooo I have mixed feelings about this book. I found it really good in some parts, but overall I found it to be a really cliché YA book. I didn't really care for some of the characters such as Chloe. I thought she was a bitch and I didn't really care when she died, although I was surprised that the author decided to kill her off so early in the book.

The whole half-breed thing was kind of stupid. I wanted Emma to be able to change into a Syrena as well. I hope that in the second book she will be able to, but the first one was disappointing because it was basically all on land. Also, I found all the twists really obvious, especially the Nalia twist. The only thing that I didn't see coming was the twist that Nalia was Emma's mother. But I knew Nalia was alive. It was obvious from the moment that Banks mentioned that they never found Nalia's body. I also found the climax kind of wimpy.

Anyways, the romance was okay I guess. It didn't do too much for me, but I do love Toraf and Rayna together. They were probably my favourite couple and I can't wait to see more of them in the next two books. I will be reading the second one yet. Hopefully it will be better than this one.
