Themes of death and grief aren’t uncommon in Stephen King’s works, but never have they been explored with such depth and honesty as in 𝑷𝒆𝒕 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚.

Inspired by a real-life incident in King’s own life, involving one of his own children, this story of a family grappling with a tremendous loss feels like King’s way of working through his own phantom-grief. And in that way, it’s one of his most terrifying and thought-provoking novels.
