Say You're Sorry by Michael Robotham

4.0

The best Robotham I've read so far. Don't get me wrong, Joe continues to do stupid shit, but less so in this book than in previous ones. Or maybe I'm getting used to him and expect the dumb decisions, or they're not irritating me as much in this one...
Piper and her friend Tash were kidnapped 3 years ago, and haven't been found. They're kept in a basement by 'George'. Tash manages to escape, but Piper is stuck, waiting for Tash to return and save her. When Tash is found, it reinvigorates the search for Piper. The town mostly assumes she's dead and wants to give up the search, stop wasting police time. Joe pushes, and eventually gets the police to continue the hunt, trying to track down the offender by psychological profiling.
Twists and turns, I did not figure out whodunit.
