Burnt Sugar by Avni Doshi

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.

Very upset to say this as I highly anticipated this book, but I was incredibly bored. I’m very much a ‘no plot, all vibes’ kinda reader so that wasn’t the issue. Similarly to the reason I disliked Open Water, it felt overly poetic and flowery for no purpose or effect. There were parts I enjoyed, namely the dialogue between the MC and her Ma and Husband, but the rest felt like filler. I was tempted to finish it as it’s a short book but i think it would be a waste of my time.
