For some reason I always forget Kennedy Ryan is one hell of a writer, so when reading one of her books I’m transported into that world surprisingly. One thing I love about her books is that the man is always down bad, in absolute love with his woman. There’s no wavering once they realize. I hate a third-act break up and luckily that didn’t happen, as much as Neevah tried. Canon was such a sweetheart, despite his hard-ass exterior. He found someone who he loved more than his art, and it was exactly what he needed to heal from the loss of his mother. Neevah frustrated me keeping her illness a secret but I could understand why. I really hated her sister and thought she forgave her too quickly. Terry wouldn’t take responsibility for her hurtful actions and even in the end I feel like she still held resentment for Neevah having the audacity for staying angry with her over the years. Neevah should not have been the one trying to repair the relationship. Terry should’ve reached out over the years, but instead chose to blame Neevah for the continued estrangement. Neevah was happy at the end so that’s what mattered. I loved this book.
