Between a Fox and a Hard Place by Mary Frame

5.0

I love love loved this! I love big family stories and I really enjoy reading characters who are really fighting for everything they have. For Finley Fox, it’s her home and for Archer Weston, it’s for a forever with someone. The book starts off by throwing you into the deep end with Finley’s problems, one solution is a quick fix she thinks Archer can help her with. Unbeknownst to her, this “lumbersnack,” as she so sweetly called him, is more than happy to comply as long as she knows his first intention of being in town, to help a long time friend purchase her family property. There’s some deal making and some attempts by Archer to make both parties happy. In the end, family is involved and Archer becomes a part of Finley’s life more and more. The inevitable happens between them but his goal is to still obtain har family property, or at least a portion of it.

I laughed so hard when Finley called Archer a “lumbersnack.” I really enjoyed these characters and I especially loved the big family setting and all the chaos that comes with it. The family dynamic was quite sad but with this being the first book, I can see the family getting closer and closer over the rest of the series. It definitely makes me look forward to the next book. There was romance, good humor, enough family drama and a great start to what sounds like a great series. I definitely recommend this.
