Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It by Charlamagne Tha God

3.0

Charlamagne tha God is one of biggest names in the radio/music industry currently with his very successful radio show the breakfast club where he talks about hip hop and interviews people from different backgrounds- mostly hip hop artists though- even politicians have come on the breakfast club.

Anyway, this not about the breakfast club, but rather about Charlamagne tha God's book black privilege, which I got on Audible just to listen to Charlamagne narrate it himself, which was good he did a great job narrating. The book talks about life lessons from Charlemagne's life and his values and experiences, which for the most part is interesting, seeing how he went from a thug who got kicked out of school to one of the most famous radio personalities is fascinating.

There are some things I didn’t like though, first a lot of times his advice come off a bit too preachy for my liking like he is 100% right and the other thing is despite being a short listen I was burnt out by the end of, which sucks because I wanted to get his other book, but it is on hold for now.

If you enjoy this genre of books I would recommend black privilege, it is a fun listen, but there isn’t anything special about it. 7/10
