It was good but def a case of second book syndrome. The world building was spot on and the introduction to a new goddess was exciting as was the many new creatures. Koffi and Ekon are great characters and I’m definitely rooting for them.
But…
The introduction of new love interests. Yuck.
The journey with the enterprise dragged on for too long like Ekon forgot he was trying to find Koffi or something. Idk
The middle was a dense snooze fest. Like almost 500 pages but nothing happened.
I know this is nitpicking but I just loved the first book so much. This was a big let down.
I did really enjoy the chapters from Binti’s POV and learning the history of the darajas and familial struggles.
The cliffhanger was okay. Come on book three don’t let me down pleaseeeee!
