  • I didn't like book 1 that much because
I didn't really understand why they had to go through and experience the cataclysm.
Partially me just being too dumb to get the sub text but mainly Raistlin's plan just being ultra convoluted.
  • Lady Crysania's
blind faith in the clerics of the past being replaced by her blind faith in Raistlin -with express approval from the Platinum dragon (why???)- is very frustrating to see, especially when we the audience and see Raistlin's trickery.
  • Raistlin being a sly weasel as always. Very well written villain/antihero?
  • Caramon
is finally free from the bond to his brother. Took long enough, but still, dope!
  • I liked the tension between
knowing the history of how the conflict is supposed to end and Raistlin's machinations. I found myself both rooting for Raistlin to succeed while also hating him for treating his companions so poorly. I truly thought he was going to succeed and we would follow him and the consequences of his actions in book 3. Overall 7.5/10: great continuation of these characters.
