Forever, Jack by Natasha Boyd

4.0

"Forever, Jack" is the sequel to the bestselling "Eversea" by Natasha Boyd and picks up exactly where the first book left off. The love story of Jack Eversea and Keri Ann Butler seemed to abruptly come to an end when Jack's ex-girlfriend Audrey announced she was pregnant with his child only for Jack to find out that she was no longer pregnant in the first place (or so she claimed). If the first book was about how Jack and Keri Ann, an unlikely couple, fell for each other, this second book focuses on their journey to reclaim what was always theirs--each other.

While this was a good story and I did enjoy reading it, one of my issues with the book is the same one I had with the first one: my lack of absolute affection for Keri Ann. Yes, yes, I get that she was hurt by what happened but the girl was obviously lying to herself and throwing back Jack's declaration of love to his face was just...ugh! The epilogue finally got me back to liking her a smidgen. Hehe. Jack...well, Jack is a different story altogether. The guy is even more swoon-worthy this second time around. Where can we get ourselves our own Jack Eversea and how long will it take for him to get to us? ^.^

There were editing issues that were seemingly missed and I was trying to remember, without re-reading "Eversea", if the first book had similar issues as well... Hmmm...

One of the best things about this book had to be the cover. Now, I know we're not supposed to judge a book by its cover (because some out there have gorgeous covers and turn out to be real disappointments on the inside) but this book had a beautiful one that really tied in to the story and to the first book's cover (which was quite good as well!). So, this is definitely one of those occasions where you've got a book that'll grab your attention from the outside and keep you reeled in once you start flipping through the pages. ^.^

"Forever, Jack" gets four out of five stars. If you've never read "Eversea", make sure you do so BEFORE reading "Forever, Jack" because neither one is a stand-alone. ;)
