I loved this SO much, although I would minus half a star just because I’m not sure why kit was so heavily blamed for mal’s leaving? Also the main character was a bit annoying at the start because she seemed to have problems with everyone. I did also find some of the characters to be a bit stereotypical rather than fully fledged characters. The main character’s obsession with mattie being a ‘sixteen-year-old sex goddess’ was also weird, especially with how I imagined her being older than Mattie, but I guess that was just meant to be jealousy.
But I still loved this book so much and it will defo be one of my favs for a while. I loved all these characters despite maybe not knowing much about them all, especially alex and mal. I loved the intrigue of this book. I will always enjoy books set during summer in big houses by the sea!
A beautifully written summer read I would recommend to anyone, even if it had some issues - they didn’t annoy me really. I wanna hear all my friends’ and family’s thoughts on this story!
