American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld

5.0

I am reminded every time I read a book by Curtis Sittenfeld that she is one of my favorite authors. She has a way of making you fall in love with the characters so much so that they stick in your head for days or even weeks.
I must admit that I probably wouldn’t have read this book if it were written by a different author, since it’s based loosely on the life of Laura Bush(and I‘ve never been a fan of the Bushes). I assure you that it is not political. The tragedy that happens in the beginning of the book is, in my opinion, the worst thing that could happen to someone. I HIGHLY recommend this book or any book by Sittenfeld. Prep is probably my favorite stand-alone book ever.
