Honeymoon by Patrick Modiano

This book is ROUGH. I can see Modiano starting to develop this writing style, the melancholic, slippery, haunting prose we see in books such as SO YOU DON'T GET LOST IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD and SLEEP OF MEMORY.

However, this book is by younger Modiano. He hadn't yet fully leaned into his own take on surrealism and it shows.
