Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen
Did not finish book. Stopped at 41%.
Thank you to Edelweiss, St. Martin's Press, & Macmillan for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.
DNF @ 41% / 127pgs
I love Sarah Addison Allen. I love stories with multiple POVs where you get to know every character. I love small southern town stories. I love most of the magical realism books that I read. I even love the idea of an invisible bird.
So why didn't this one work for me? I truly don't know - I just could not bring myself to be interested in how everything was going to come together or what was going to happen to each of the characters and after enough time spent trying to force myself to read it, I had to let it go.
That being said, I've heard SO. MANY. GOOD. THINGS. about this book from others and The Sugar Queen & Garden Spells were some of my favorite books when I read them - so definitely don't take my word alone for it!
