I think I would have enjoyed this more in an earlier stage of life, when I felt that heartbreak would be the end of me. Whitney Hanson did a lovely job of expressing the spectrum of human emotions that we feel when we’ve been broken. Her vulnerability is beautiful.

For me, this was simply a case of wrong place, wrong time. I think this book has value—it’s just not as poignant in my current season. While the content of this book isn’t anything that hasn’t been done before, I think it’s always good to add to the voices that are being honest about the depth of the human experience.
