I’ve never had a book make me feel more confused or dumb. I’m sitting here truly stupefied bc I don’t know if I even have the intelligence to relay what happened or who it happened to. The writing was atmospheric but I feel like a kindergartener trying to read a PhD thesis on the thermodynamics of the body. Plus add space and religion and a huge cast of characters that I still can’t describe. It’s a good book but I struggled to get through it. And now that Gideon is quite literally dead and NOT coming back (?) I have no motivation to continue the series.
Graphic: Body horror, Bullying, Cancer, Confinement, Cursing, Gore, Violence, Blood, Cannibalism, Death of parent, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
