Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes by Jonathan Auxier

Did not finish book.

I really wanted to like this book because of the cover *heart eyes* but it fell flat. Significantly. Kudos to the author for being highly original, but I just didn’t feel like it was appropriate for the age group it’s marketed for- there was a fair amount of surprisingly gross/gruesome/morbid/just weird kind of stuff going on. Like the raven plucking out Peter the baby’s eyes??? The tone is casual and that just makes it worse.

There were other elements I didn’t care for, but the one above was the main reason I DNF’d it. And, really, I think Peter just needs some friends his own age.
