Ojos de perro azul by Gabriel García Márquez

Did not finish book. Stopped at 35%.
Maybe I'm just not mature enough to read Marquez yet, but the best way I can describe what his writing style is to me, at least at this moment in my life, is this: redundant and slow.
He details everything, all the time, and it's hard to go along with his train of thought because of it. You think the story is gonna be about something because of how hard he fixates on a certain thing, but then the paragraph ends and you remember it's about a completely different thing. I don't like that.
I'm not going to act like he's not an amazing writer, he is, he sees things normal people don't and describes them with such vivid vocabulary. But for the most part, he goes around in circles and has a hard time progressing the story in a coherent way. The same thing happened to me with 'One Hundred Years of Solitude", what the actual fuck was happening in that book. Idk, because I didn't get past 50 pages because I PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY COULDN'T.
Anyways, not for me right now, kinda sad, but I'm happy that I don't have to read it, idk, I'm conflicted, he's supposed to be good and I just don't get it, maybe someday I will, I don't really care that much, goodbye.
