Taking A Chance by Kat Obie
5.0
A unique storyline
This isn't my typical type of read since I don't read paranormal but I love Kat's other two hockey series so I wanted to read this. I love the premise of the series -- a team of shifters playing in the league.
This was a great first book for the series because It's set up the structure of the team, introducing different players and the fact that everyone on the team is a shifter but we don't have all the details about everyone yet so it keeps you wanting to read more. It also ties to her loving the sound series because the main character in this book is the sibling of one of the players on that team so we get some crossover dynamics and some scenes with players from that team. It's always fun to see what that team is up to and I love when there are Cameo appearances across different books.
Dez hasn't played hockey in over 5 years. He just sort of disappeared from the league and no one knew why. He's invited to join the Wild which not only gives him a second chance at hockey but it also gives him a second chance to have Scarlett in his life.
